Which bending did Aang struggle with?
In Avatar: The Last Airbender, Aang procrastinates and struggles with learning firebending. This is the last of the four elements Aang masters, and despite his abilities as the Avatar, he does not trust himself to handle firebending.
Aang has to learn how to master all of the Four Elements, and here he is confronted by his greatest challenge: the element Earth. Since Earth in this world is the opposite element to Air, Aang finds it immensely difficult to grasp.
Bloodbending. With the right timing, skill, and place, nothing can stand in the way of a bloodbender. And with Yakone, Noatak (Amon), and Tarrlock's unique genetics that allowed them to bloodbend without the full moon, it's a truly formidable bending form.
Aang is an airbender, and the element that is directly opposed to air is earth. Earth required a mindset that was the opposite of airbending, which is why Aang had such trouble with it (he wanted to dance around and evade but he had to stand his ground and move that rock).
Firebending proved to be far weaker than all the other elements in the original series, but the Avatar franchise can restore its glory.
Aang only mastered 35 levels, and invented the air scooter technique. So the question is, what was in the highest level of airbending, that Aang never learned? It was obviously the pinnacle of airbending. It could be astral projection, the airbending subskill.
' So there it is, Korra had trouble with airbending because it was the element most opposite of her personality and because it would differentiate her from Aang. Thankfully she was able to master it by the second season, which was helpful since she had much bigger problems to tackle.
While Aang never learned metalbending, it was Toph that taught him earthbending which in turn may have made Korra's metalbending lesson with Toph all the easier.
Flight, also called weightlessness, is a complex and extremely rare skill that has only ever been demonstrated by two known airbenders, Guru Laghima and Zaheer. It is referred to as the highest level of airbending, and was such a unique ability, that it was believed to only exist in legends.
Any earth can be lavabent, so it's actually more plentiful than metalbending.
What is the rarest bending ability?
Aang / Korra (Energybending)
While it looks like Energybending is an ability accessible only to Avatars, that essentially makes it one of the rarest abilities in the entire franchise.
Put simply, capitalism and its need to exploit the lower classes is why lightning bending became more common in The Legend of Korra. It's not as common as bending earth, fire, or water but the rapidly evolving technology of that era in the ATLA world meant more lightning benders were needed.

Bending the elements
At the start of the series, Korra is proficient in water, earth and fire, but struggles with airbending due to the difficulties of embracing her spiritual side.
Aang, at his full potential. As a reincarnation of the entity known as the Avatar, Aang possessed the power to bend all four elements, making him the most powerful bender of his time.
The Legend of Korra:
Unlike his companions, Sokka is a non-bender, but as the show progresses he masters swordplay and proves himself to be a worthy strategist. Being a non-bender, Sokka uses different weapons such as his boomerang and machete; and eventually a jian sword to combat enemies.
1 Asami & Sokka Are Two Of The Most Relatable Characters In The Avatar Mythos Due To The Fact That They Can Not Bend.
Airbenders have the ability to manipulate the air without and within; some techniques include bending the air around their gliders, so that they create the illusion of flying, and they can run as fast as the wind.
Zaheer developed the ability of flight through the teachings of Guru Laghima, becoming the first airbender in four thousand years to do so.
Bending Arts
Hung Gar forms the basis of earthbending. Inspiration was taken from the style's low stances, rooted power and strength. The Northern Shaolin system forms the basis of firebending.
Aang chose the prodigious Toph Beifong to teach him the ways of earthbending, and between them and other Earthbenders in Avatar, it was proven many times that this just might be the best bending style of the four. The earth can do incredible things in the hands of a master bender, and fans always look forward to more.
What is the least powerful bending?
CMV:Airbending is objectively the least powerful of the 4 bending powers. In A:TLA and LoK there are people with the ability to control the 4 classical elements: earth, fire, air, water.
Air is commonly named the least powerful element in Avatar.
Throughout the course of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Aang mastered the four elements in order to restore balance to the world. However, he never quite left his roots as an airbender, relying on this element more than any other throughout the series.
Diamond is the hardest known material to date, with a Vickers hardness in the range of 70β150 GPa. Diamond demonstrates both high thermal conductivity and electrically insulating properties, and much attention has been put into finding practical applications of this material.
It remained an incredibly rare skill, usually reserved for the inner circles of Fire Nation royalty and high-ranking military officers. By the end of the Hundred Year War, the only firebenders who had demonstrated the ability to generate lightning were Princess Azula, Iroh, and Fire Lord Ozai.
Metalbending: The ability to bend and manipulate metal. Toph is also the first known bender to discover metal bending was possible.
As the Avatar, Aang is capable of bending all four elements (air, water, earth and fire).
It's a very rare ability. Maybe you do have some talent. Bolin is the last known lavabender to be alive by 174 AG. Lavabending is a specialized sub-skill of earthbending that allows the user to manipulate molten earth.
Weaknesses. Metal and wood: Because earthbenders cannot bend processed metals, the bending abilities of an earthbender can be negated by securing them within a metallic barrier, separating them from any contact with the earth. Wood cannot be subject to earthbending because it is neither a mineral nor mineral-like.
Bending abilities appear to be a blend of genetics and spirituality. Bending can skip generations, so that a bender can be born to non-bender parents.
What is Sandbending?
Sandbending is a sub bending style of Earthbending in Avatar Mod 2 that allows benders to manipulate sand. This technique gives earthbenders a significant advantage when fighting other benders on sand, as they will now also have access to a variety of powerful sand-related abilities.
Platinum doesn't have a lot of connected atoms, that could be why they can't sense or bend it. In theory they might be able to feel few connected electrons and bend it, but so far, there has no earthbender able to sense that little.
Combustion Bending is a rare sub element that firebenders can be born with when starting a new game, with a 1/100 chance according to sources. People born with Combustion Bending have a third eye tattoo on their forehead and are bald even if they customized themselves to have hair.
The fifth bending art, energybending, is unlike the other four in that little physical action is required to direct the bending itself. The four elemental bending arts are all dependent on the energy, or chi, within the human body, relying on its flow through the body to manipulate a specific element.
Blue flames are extremely rare, with only Azula displaying them (even including characters present in The Legend of Korra and the graphic novels.)
Why Only The Avatar Can Bend Multiple Elements. As mentioned, normal benders in Avatar cannot acquire more than one of the four primary elements. In the Legend of Korra episode "Beginnings, Part 2" a lion turtle explains that the human body is incapable of holding two or more elements at the same time.
The reason for Azula's blue firebending is this: she has learned the skill of opening her chakras when firebending. Her flames are blue because her chi is βcleanβ; it has not been driven through clogged, dirty chakras, yielding the color of pure fire.
Azula's blue firebending was meant to symbolize that she was more powerful than Zuko as well as a firebending prodigy, and also to easily distinguish her attacks from his in their fights. She was initially intended to have an arranged marriage during the third season.
Every time Zuko attempted to bend lightning, all he produced was an explosion that sent him back into the ground. Iroh explained that Zuko would never be able to master the skill as long as he struggled with his own inner conflict, which manifested itself in several ways as it progressed throughout Avatar.
Unlike many characters in the world of The Legend of Korra, Asami is not able to "bend", or telekinetically create, control and manipulate any of the four elements: water, earth, fire or air/wind.
Did the lion turtles teach bending?
It's still possible for both origin stories to be true. Perhaps the lion turtles passed on the power to bend elements to humans, but didn't teach them how to master the ability. After all, every bender has to train to fully master the control of the elements.
Katara is a 14-year-old "waterbender", meaning that she has the ability to telekinetically control water and ice. At the beginning of the story, she is the only person with such abilities in the Southern Water Tribe, one of three known communities in which waterbending is practiced.
6 Aang's Flaw: He's Too Caught Up In His Love For Katara
This made him extremely insecure, possessive, and jealous, especially when she was confronted by other potential suitors such as Zuko.
Since Gyatso was Aang's personal teacher and guardian, it also became his duty to better the Avatar's airbending skills.
Monk Gyatso was Avatar Aang's guardian, mentor, and father figure before the beginning of the Hundred Year War, as well as a member of the Council of Elders. According to Aang, he was the greatest airbender in the world during his time. Gyatso was known for his kindness and sense of humor.
While Aang never learned metalbending, it was Toph that taught him earthbending which in turn may have made Korra's metalbending lesson with Toph all the easier.
Essentially Aang's death can be attributed to a complicated form of old age. As Aang grew older the 100 years he spent trapped in an iceberg started to catch up with him. His life energy was drained and he eventually died at the relatively young biological age of 66.
Lightning bending is one of the strongest abilities in Avatar: The Last Airbender, with Azula's lightning attack nearly killing Aang for good. It's also one of the rarest techniques, with only Ozai, Iroh, and Azula able to generate lightning on their own. Even Aang, the avatar, and Zuko could only redirect lightning.
Unlike his companions, Sokka is a non-bender, but as the show progresses he masters swordplay and proves himself to be a worthy strategist. Being a non-bender, Sokka uses different weapons such as his boomerang and machete; and eventually a jian sword to combat enemies.
Special Ability. Metalbending: The ability to bend and manipulate metal. Toph is also the first known bender to discover metal bending was possible.
