How did Tails get created?
Concept and creation
Yasushi Yamaguchi, originally the main artist and zone designer for Sega's Sonic Team, designed Tails for an internal competition for a sidekick to the speedy hedgehog. The character was inspired by a kitsune, a creature from Japanese folklore that could over time grow multiple tails.
In “Tails' Crush”, Tails started to have a crush on Zooey during one of her daily routines. They had several encounters, during each of which Tails acted to act cool, romantic, manly or ritualistic towards her in awkward ways, when he only wanted to talk to her.
The gender of Miles "Tails" Prower from the Sonic the Hedgehog series is male (boy). Tails is a boy. A lot of the voice actors who play as Tails is a female, however, he has been voiced by two people that are male. Those are Bradley Pierce and Christopher Welch.

Rosemary Prower was a Mobian fox and mother of the famous Miles "Tails" Prower. Rosemary is the wife of Great War hero and current Royal Army Commander Amadeus Prower, and sister-in-law to former-Royal Wizard and Neo Walker Merlin Prower.
In a surprising turn of events, Tails ended up marrying Mina Mongoose, the two having been friends in their youth.
Miles Prower was SEGA trying to make a play on the phrase “miles per hour” so they gave Tails that name. With the exception of Amy Rose, none of the other characters really needed a last name.
Tails was redesigned (along with all of the other Sonic characters) by Yuji Uekawa for Sonic Adventure. His fur changed color to a more yellow shade as opposed to the orange in his early appearances, and he gained blue irises.
Did Tails have a sister?
In the Prime Universe, Tails has a sister named Zooey, which was also the name of Tails' love interest in Sonic Boom.
Lara-Le was the mother of Knuckles the Echidna and ex-wife of the Guardian Locke. Lara-Le became furious with her husband when she realized she was unable to partake in raising him, due to Knuckles having to be trained to become the next Guardian.

Kaguya later gave birth to a pair of sons who inherited all of her powers. One of these sons would grow up to become the Sage of the Six Paths. Jealous that her sons had inherited powers similar to herself, Kaguya became one with the God-Tree and her body and mind formed the Ten-Tailed Beast.

Over a 2000+ years before the start of the GOH plot, he was a fox of the Sage Realm that trained for a 1000 years and finally became a god. After becoming a god he was allowed to live in the Heavenly Realm and even served in the royal court of the Jade Emperor as his bodyguard.
Are babies ever born with Tails?
There are several human atavisms that reflect our common genetic heritage with other mammals. One of the most striking is the existence of the rare 'true human tail'. It is a rare event with fewer than 40 cases reported in the literature. The authors report a case of an infant born with the true tail.
While the growth didn't cause any health complications, the family opted to remove it. According to the Journal, the Brazilian newborn is one of 40 infants ever to be born with a tail.
Immortality. In Tails Can't Die, he is immortal and uses his ability to help Sonic through their adventure and defeated Robotnik on his own. At first, Tails believed his immortality is a blessing but 100 years later, the fox is at a cemetery mourning about outliving his friends and family.

Isobu (磯撫, Isob'u), more commonly known as the Three-Tails (三尾, Sanbi), is a tailed beast that was formerly sealed in Yagura of Kirigakure, after being sealed in Rin Nohara as part of Kirigakure's plan to attack Konohagakure. It has been captured by Deidara and Tobi, then sealed by Akatsuki.
She was forcibly made into the jinchūriki of the Three Tails Isobu, as an elaborate scheme by Kirigakure to destroy her village.
